About Me, Lisa Oswald

Why I started my business

I want to make easy-learning of gardening for others who either feel intimidated, overwhelmed, or don't have the time to self-teach.  Learning to garden can take less time and be more fun when you actually have your hands in the dirt (with garden gloves on, of course!) and someone to guide you. You don't have to make the same mistakes I did or buy tools that aren't necessary.  And, if you already tend to your own garden, I can be your motivator and collaborator. You may know more about gardening than I do but I can help you get the job done right and in half the time!   Are you ready to "Meet Me in Your Garden"?  Call or text me at 301-775-7990.  Email at Meetmeinyourgarden@gmail.com.

I have been a resident in Bethesda, MD for twenty-four years. My gardening experience began when my husband and I bought our first and only home in Westmoreland Hills.  I quickly became interested in learning to garden after paying steep fees for landscapers.  I bought gardening books, read blogs, and spent a lot of time at garden nurseries reading labels.  I joined my community garden club where I learned a wealth of information from some very experienced gardeners.  I am a self-taught gardener through trial and error.  I have no formal background in horticulture or landscaping.  However, I am consistently looking for continuing education opportunities through local nurseries, print and on-line publications, and formal education programs.  I promote Integrated Pest Management and the use of native plants to reduce the amount of pesticide use and to protect our beneficials, pollinators, and environment.

"Lisa is your mentor through the world of gardening.  As working parents of young kids, we don't have a lot of time to read about the subject and needed a guide to help us. Lisa gets right in there with you and teaches you how to fish

(as the saying goes...)."
